Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire resides in a uninhabited area of Montreal Island, which is known as West Island. It is the West Island, to those who are unfamiliar with it, is a large area that extends from Lachine all the way west. Amanda Brugel was born there, but her time in the city wasn't long. Brugel was raised in Courtice, just outside of Oshawa. Her initial ambition was to become an actress, but after a sudden increase in size, her friends were no longer able to dance with her. In an article published by the Toronto Star that she is 6'1" tall when wearing heels. When I grew out of male companions and gave up, I decided to give up. Brugel was one of many former dancers who turned to acting. Her teacher from high school was what pushed her into the right direction. The teacher encouraged her to audition for a part in a school production. She tried out and eventually got the leading role of Anne of Green Gables. A Fine Arts Talent Scholarship led her to York University, where she studied Theatre and received an undergraduate degree in Fine Arts in the year 2000. Since then, Brugel's been involved in more than 60 shows, big and small. The most notable was when she landed the role of Rita on The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was the only Canadian actor for the season 1 of the series, and only seen occasionally.
