Elizabeth Reaser, an American actor in TV, film and stage, is most well-known for her roles in The Twilight Saga as well as series like Greys Anatomy or True Detective. After asking if she was capable of doing sword fights, she immediately sent the producers a brief video. Jessica went through the script and knew the character would need weapons training. Her first video was recorded lesson with a professional following having read the script. Jonathan Glassner said that the stunt team was amazed by how well Jessica did during her initial lesson. Her prior films were made in Australia. In the film, The Outpost was her first big film in America. Jessica is able to portray her powerful female character due to her enthusiasm for action, mixed martial arts skills and her riding horse, weapon and firearms abilities, in addition to her athletic ability. Jessica has been trained in boxing as well as muay Thai in Australia and has also been training at a mixed-martial art gym. Jake Stormoen encountered a roaming stray while filming Season 4. The puppy was residing in one of the sets. Jessica took care of both puppies.
